oil lamps
In 1997 we were looking for a gift idea for our best customers for Christmas. Our incandescent oil lamps are a tribute to one of the most important inventors of the 19th century: Thomas Alva Edison.
On October 21, 1879 in a laboratory in Menlo Park near New York:
After 45 hours, an incandescent lamp goes out. Thomas Alva Edison developed the first practical light bulb.
Rightly rated as an "...epoch-making invention..." at the Paris World Exhibition in 1881, it has since changed life and the rhythm of humanity.
Now banned for ecological reasons, it will continue to be a symbol of inventiveness, flashes of genius and innovation.
We made them shine in a new way, without electricity, but full of emotions and with a touch of romance.
Our incandescent-shaped oil lamps are for use with natural-based lamp oils, i.e. without paraffin content. We also carry organic oil from Boomex (Flash)
